Transforming a Classic Solitaire: Crafting a Custom Platinum Two-Stone Enhancer Ring
Sometimes, the best way to upgrade a beloved engagement ring isn’t to replace it—it’s to elevate it.
Our client loved her classic solitaire diamond engagement ring, but wanted a fuller, three-stone look that worked seamlessly alongside her existing wedding band. The solution? A custom-designed platinum two-stone enhancer ring, crafted to cradle her central diamond and fit flush with her bridal stack.
Here’s a quick look at how we brought this clever design to life.

Step 1: Precision CAD Design
To make sure the enhancer ring hugged the curves of the original solitaire perfectly without leaving awkward gaps, we turned to Computer-Aided Design (CAD).
We engineered a contoured platinum band featuring two setting heads, intentionally spaced to flank the client’s main diamond on either side.

Step 2: Casting in Platinum
Once the digital design was approved, we cast the piece in platinum—chosen for its incredible durability, weight, and bright white luster that enhances the brilliant sparkle of diamonds.
Fresh out of casting, the raw platinum mount clearly shows the custom-shaped arch designed to slide neatly around the solitaire's central setting.

Step 3: Bench Assembly & Test Fitting
Precision is everything when creating a ring enhancer. At the bench, we performed a test fit using the client’s original solitaire to verify that the setting heights matched, the prongs aligned naturally, and the bridge sat snugly underneath her centerpiece.

Step 4: Stone Setting & Final Polish
With the fit perfected, two complementary side diamonds were expertly set into the platinum claws. The entire set—wedding band, original solitaire, and new enhancer—was given a full polish and clean.
The result? A magnificent, seamless three-stone effect that breathes brand-new life into her original rings!
